This site contains general information about who we are and what we do.
Snowsports was formed in 1988 by the current head coach Chris Hill. The club does not teach people to ski – the goal is to encourage children and juniors to participate and enjoy skiing and ski racing at all levels.
There is an opportunity for club members to participate in regular race training camps at specified times of the year - August, October half-term, Christmas, February half-term and Easter usually to either France, Austria or Switzerland.
The clubs alpine programme coincides with the school holidays and offers coaching and race training support at most national snow races.
Dry Ski Slope Training - Runcorn Ski Centre
Race Club run training sessions at Runcorn Ski Centre on Wednesday evenings,7.00 pm – 9 pm during term time, with exclusive use of the main slope.
At our weekly training sessions there are 2 groups, following membership application and a trial, participants are allocated an appropriate level of group.
All training groups start a 7.00pm however it is standard practise that the younger group will finish at 8.00pm (1 hour training session).
All club coaches hold coaching licences from one of the home nations governing bodies, are CRB checked and hold relevant first aid certificates. The coaching staff consists of former national coach, regional coach, British children’s team coach, head coach English Schools Ski Association. Between the coaches there are many, many years of regional, national and international experience.
